Family Values

Meet Bethan and Joe

We’re the brother and sister team behind The British Blanket Company, welcome to our family business! We grew up in the Somerset countryside and spent our childhood walking our dog, going camping and eating crumpets by the fire. After university Bethan moved to London to write for Ideal Home magazine, while Joe headed north to Newcastle to work in e-commerce development. In 2015 we decided to pool our skills and The British Blanket Company was born! While many people are amazed two siblings can work together, we make a great team. We’ve even been invited to 10 Downing Street and won ‘Family Business of the Year’ in the 2019.

SPECIAL EDITIONS

Small-batch blankets for connoisseurs

Our Special Editions are small-batch collections of blankets, inspired by a theme close to our hearts. These extra-special throws are designed in-house and woven with the softest yarns by our expert mills. In 2020 our first British Birds Collection became collector’s items overnight! Building on the popularity of these, we’ll be adding more Special Editions with a new theme every year. We believe that entrepreneurs are made, not born. The British Blanket Company partners with local universities to offer paid internships and mentoring so talented young people can develop new skills working in our thriving business.
