Returns and Exchanges
We want you to love everything you buy from The British Blanket Company. If something isn’t as you’d hoped, you can return or exchange your purchase within 14 days of receiving it.
Use our Returns Portal to request a refund or exchange. It’s quick, easy and includes the option to exchange for different priced items.
Simply keep unwanted items unused in their protective bag. Please await an email from us confirming your return request has been logged before posting items back.
REFUNDS - CHANGE OF MIND
available to UK and international customers
To be eligible for a refund on unwanted purchases, you must:
- Submit a return request via our Returns Portal within 14 days of receipt
- Return the item in the original clear plastic bag
- Return the item unused and in perfect condition
- Free Royal Mail returns label for UK orders
- International customers must arrange and cover the cost of return shipping
- Post back the item within 14 days of logging your return request
EXCHANGES – CHANGE OF MIND
available to UK customers only
To be eligible for an exchange on unwanted purchases, you must:
- Submit a return request via our Returns Portal within 14 days of receipt
- Follow the steps to select your replacement items. You can make a top-up payment if required
- Alternatively select store credit to come back and shop later
- Return the item in the original clear plastic bag
- Return the item unused and in perfect condition
- Free Royal Mail returns label for UK orders
- Your replacement item will be delivered free of charge
- Post back the item within 14 days of logging your return request
EXCHANGES – GIFTS
available to UK customers only
- If you wish to exchange and item received as a gift, you will need to ask the giver to process the return request via the Returns Portal
- The gift giver will be able to provide your address for the replacement item to be delivered to. Please check carefully if doing this as the default is to send replacements to the original address
- Gift recipients are unable to receive a monetary refund or store credit, only the person who placed the order can receive these
TIMESCALE
- We aim to process incoming returns within 7 days of receipt. However, during peak periods please allow us 14 working days from the date we receive your return to inspect it and process your refund / exchange
- Please refer to your tracking number to confirm your return has reached our warehouse and allow the above time to elapse before chasing up
- Refunds will be made via the original payment method and you'll be notified via email. It can take a few days appear on your bank statement
- Refunds may appear in the name 'The Blanket Shop Ltd'
- PayPal Pay in 3 users will receive a refund for the instalments paid to date, and future payment obligations will be cancelled
POSTAGE COSTS
UK customers
- Through the Returns Portal UK customers customers will be given the option of a FREE printable or printer-free Royal Mail return label.
- Customers are also welcome to arrange their return shipping at their own cost via any courier by choosing 'I want to arrange my own method'.
- We cannot refund you if your item is lost or damaged during return shipment so it is essential to retain proof of postage and tracking until your return is fully complete
International customers

International customers are required to arrange and pay for their own return shipping via a courier of their choice.
- When completing your declaration paperwork you must select the reason as 'Returned goods - relief claimed' to avoid incurring customs charges. Any such charges that are applied will be deducted from your refund or billed back to you.
FAULTY OR WRONG ITEM RECEIVED
We're very sorry if you've received an item that's faulty, or if we sent you the wrong item by accident. We’re here to fix this for you as smoothly as possible.
UK customers
- Please go to our Returns Portal and select ‘Faulty on arrival’ or ‘Incorrect item received’ as the return reason
- Upload a photo and add a brief note to help us understand the issue
- A member of our team will review the issue and email you with next steps to resolve the problem within 3 working days
- Without advance agreement via email we cannot cover your return shipping costs, so please don't post your item until you've heard back from us
- Shedding fibres and pilling occur through use of pure wool products and we do not accept these as faults. We also cannot accept returns for problems caused by laundering. Our Wool Care Guide has more details on routine maintenance of wool products
International customers
- International customers should not use the Returns Portal if you believe your item is faulty, or you have been sent the incorrect item
- Email support@thebritishblanketcompany.com with a photo and add a brief note to help us understand the issue
- A member of our team will review the issue and email you with next steps to resolve the problem within 3 working days

NON RETURNABLE ITEMS
- Gift cards
- Gift boxes / gift wrap
- Food and drink items
- Seconds Sale items
- Personalised items
- Items purchased through a bundle offer or received as a free gift, unless all items are returned
- Any item that shows signs of use including pilling, laundering, odours and pet hair
This returns policy is in line with Consumer Contracts Regulations 2014. Protections and timescales may not apply to customers outside the UK. Paypal payments are also bound by the Paypal User Agreement.
