The British Blanket Company is all about celebrating the best of British, so where better to photograph our new collection of throws than our beautiful coast? We're lucky to have this C19th lighthouse just a half-hour's walk from home and we thought it would be the ideal setting for a photo shoot on a warm summer's evening.
Black Nore Lighthouse sits on the Bristol Channel where it signalled to ships twice every 10 seconds until 2010, when it was sold to a trust for preservation for just £1. It's no longer operational but is still popular as a picnic spot for walkers between Portishead and Clevedon.
Our new collection for summer 2016 has some gorgeous new designs in colours that are made to make you smile! Our Waffle Stripe throws comes in three fruity colour combinations: Orange & Kiwi Green, Lemon Yellow & Lime and Raspberry Pink & Blueberry. The weave has a wonderful texture and the pure wool is soft and fluffy.
The other new addition to our range is an expanded range of luxury picnic rugs. These pure wool picnic blankets with waterproof backing and leather carry straps have been so popular we've added a new design in Soft Grey Herringbone with a Red Stripe. This classic colour combination has echos of vintage Swiss Army Blankets and has already proved a big hit with outdoor fans and as a sophisticated wedding gift.
