Meet Angie Lewin
This year we have the pleasure of collaborating on a special edition blanket collection with Scottish-based print artist Angie Lewin.
Angie Lewin is one of Britain's best-known contemporary printmakers and painters. Working from her studio in Scotland, her wood engravings, linocuts, screen prints and watercolours are inspired by the coastlines, meadows and wild places of Britain.
This is the first time Angie's Lewin's designs have been faithfully translated into the form of a woven blanket.
Four Beautiful Blankets
Four Angie Lewin artworks were selected from across her body of work and reinterpreted as woven blankets. Originally created as printed papers at a much smaller size, the increased scale of the blankets highlights the detail.
Only 50 blankets have been woven in each of the four colourways, making these true collector’s items.
British-Made Blankets
The collection is jacquard woven in Lancashire, where centuries-old weaving techniques capture the complexity of Angie's original work using yarn rather than ink.
Importantly, the pattern is woven in, not printed, creating fully reversible pieces.
Our Cloud Cotton cloth contains 80% recycled cotton for sustainable softness. Each throw is finished with a contrasting colour blanket stitch edge.
